Hi,

I went through this. Very well said about Indian managers. But believe me or not, I have come across people who even do bark at engineers for doing correct things, and all because they are ignorant of the technology. I know such people with more than 20 years of experience.

Lalit,

It's not just a India market problem, it's an universal problem. One option is bring the operator in the equation to subsidize the device cost at least for 1 year contract. This is why it's successful in the western world. Also, the success of BB in the enterprise world on top of security. I know that there is a downside of revenue share and other contractual overheads to be dealt with. But, it'll largely reduce the upfront cost from the customer perspective to cross the barrier for adoption.

Hi,
As a developer i really want to write quality code, but the deadline and pressure makes it impossible. Most of the managers(especially service sector) are concerned just about the functionality(w/o performance) and completing the project in least time possible so that save dollars for the company which really hampers the quality of the code. It really makes me sad at times that I'm unable to do justification with my job. Hope we have managers who exhibit such characteristics so that focus shifts more on quality than quantity.
